The City of Redwood Falls reduced expenditures by 15.96% to cope with 2010 aid cuts. Reductions included areas such as public safety programs, civic engagement programs, street maintenance, snow removal, and charitable giving. At this point, the city has lost one employee as a result of LGA cuts, and will likely lose more if LGA is further cut. The city has also delayed capital equipment purchases and capital projects, and has implemented a wage freeze for both union and non-union employees. The city’s 2010 levy will increase 2.5%.
