The City of Janesville reduced public safety programs to cope with its 2010 aid cuts. This included the loss of one full-time police officer out of a force of 3.The city has instituted a wage freeze for all union and non-union employees. The city’s 2010 levy will decrease .5%. The city has also reduced its reserve fund, which now stand at 32% of its operations, while the state auditor recommends a range of 35 – 50%.
