The City of East Grand Forks reduced expenditures by 1.57% to cope with its 2010 aid cuts. As a result of these cuts, the city is down 4 employee positions. The city has also delayed capital equipment replacement and capital improvement projects, such as replacing the city pool. The city has implemented a wage freeze for non-union employees and is in the process of negotiated union contracts. On the revenue side, the city’s levy will increase 5% for 2010, and fees have been increased. The city has also reduced its reserve fund.
